Digi Yatra plans international trials at seven Indian airports from November 1, 2026, according to The Hindu BusinessLine’s October 27 report.
Who can participate?
The reported programme covers Indian nationals with e-passports on Air India international flights and selected IndiGo routes, subject to airport infrastructure.
Which airports are included?
- Delhi
- Bengaluru
- Hyderabad
- Cochin
- Mumbai
- Chennai
- Amritsar
What do eligible passengers need?
Eligible passengers create an e-passport credential in the app using passport-chip scanning on an NFC-compatible phone and selfie verification.
Carry your travel documents
Travel documents, airline checks and immigration remain required. Enabled points may include terminal entry, security-hold areas and boarding. This is a trial, rather than a full rollout.
What to check before travelling
Confirm that your exact flight and terminal can participate before relying on the app. Ask the airline which checkpoints are enabled and what document-check process to follow if you cannot enrol.
