Air Transat plans to connect Québec City with Lyon and Barcelona once a week in summer 2027, adding two European options from Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB). The airline announced the routes on October 28, 2026; the first flights are scheduled for June 2027.
When the new European flights are planned
| Route from Québec City | Planned 2027 season | Weekly departure |
|---|---|---|
| Lyon (LYS), France | June 8–October 26 | Tuesday |
| Barcelona (BCN), Spain | June 14–October 25 | Monday |
Both services are seasonal. The published dates describe the planned operating periods, rather than flights already running. Air Transat says Barcelona will be the first nonstop connection between Québec City and Spain.
Puerto Plata becomes a year-round option
The same announcement extends Québec City–Puerto Plata (POP), in the Dominican Republic, to year-round service. The summer schedule lists one flight each Monday. That summer frequency should not be read as a statement of the winter timetable.
Transat chief revenue officer Sebastian Ponce said the additions would bring the airline’s nonstop European destinations from Québec City to five, alongside Paris, Marseille and Nantes. Airport president and chief executive Stéphane Poirier welcomed the two routes and the Puerto Plata extension in the published announcement.
What to check before booking
Travellers planning a summer trip should check the dates and return options for their specific itinerary, particularly with only one weekly service on each new European route. The announcement does not give departure times, fares or a confirmed aircraft assignment. This report does not establish that every listed departure is available for sale.
