Miami International Airport announced the launch of a shared cargo communications portal on October 27, 2026. The Airport Cargo Community System, developed by Kalé, brings freight forwarders, truckers, carriers and handlers into a common online system.

Sharing information before trucks arrive

The airport says trucks currently arrive with limited information available about arrival times and cargo types. The portal is intended to improve advance planning and scheduling, replacing fragmented manual exchanges.

MIA also describes the system as a foundation for digital connections with partner airports along international trade lanes.

Projected benefits depend on adoption

The airport presents shorter truck turnarounds, lower costs and reduced emissions as potential benefits. Its estimates assume adoption across the cargo community; they are not evidence that the savings have already occurred.

The launch announcement does not quantify current user uptake or publish measured before-and-after performance. It describes cargo coordination, rather than a new passenger check-in or border-entry requirement.
