China’s 2026–27 winter and spring flight timetable took effect on October 25 and runs through March 27, 2027. The Civil Aviation Administration of China says 34 airlines plan 288 new domestic routes during the season, giving travelers a reason to recheck connecting options as well as familiar flight times.

The figures come from the regulator’s October 24 announcement. This is a seasonal planning update, not a claim that all 288 routes began flying together or that every advertised service operates daily.

Where the network is expanding

CAAC says many additions link northwest, northeast and southwest China with eastern and central-southern regions. Its international passenger programme covers 84 countries. Planned new scheduled passenger links include Iceland, Madagascar and Jordan.

The authority also gives an overall figure of about 116,000 weekly flights across 216 domestic and foreign airlines. That total includes cargo: it is not a count of passenger departures or seats available for booking.

Check the flight, not just the route announcement

For a winter trip, search the exact outbound and return dates rather than assuming a route operates every day of the season. Compare nonstop and connecting itineraries, the operating airline and the airport printed on each sector.

If you already hold a booking, reopen the reservation and check the current departure and arrival times. Review onward travel and any separately booked connection before accepting a changed itinerary. Keep the airline’s schedule-change message with your booking details.

A larger seasonal network does not establish a cheaper fare, an extra baggage allowance or a protected connection. Compare the conditions attached to the ticket you intend to buy; check entry and transit requirements separately for international travel.

What this announcement does not confirm

The regulator’s summary describes the season-wide programme. It does not provide an individual inaugural-flight confirmation for every new route. Use the airline’s dated schedule for an actual journey, and distinguish a planned service from a completed launch.
