China Southern Airlines is due to end its seasonal nonstop service between Darwin and Guangzhou after the current season. The last scheduled flight from Darwin is December 3, 2026, ABC News reported.
Airport Development Group, which operates Darwin International Airport, told ABC the airline had made a commercial decision to withdraw. The route began in December 2025, giving travellers a direct link between the Northern Territory and Guangzhou.
What the schedule shows
The Guangzhou municipal government’s schedule update lists December 2 as the final date from Guangzhou. That date applies to the China departure. The December 3 date reported by ABC and Australian Aviation applies to the flight leaving Darwin.
Travellers booked around the end of the service should check their itinerary with China Southern or the agent that issued their ticket. The published reports describe the end of the current service and give no confirmed date for its return.
