AirAsia is advising passengers travelling over the Deepavali holiday period to arrive at the airport at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international departures.
The airline’s November 4 advisory warns that the busy period may bring longer queues at check-in, security and immigration. It does not identify flight cancellations or establish that delays are already occurring.
Check the counter deadline for your airport
For domestic flights, AirAsia says check-in counters close one hour before departure at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 and 45 minutes before departure at other Malaysian airports. Arrival advice and counter-closing times are different deadlines: allow time for baggage, security and the walk to the gate.
Prepare before travelling
The airline recommends checking flight status in AirAsia MOVE and using available self-service kiosks and baggage-drop facilities. Customers can add or increase baggage allowance through the app up to four hours before departure.
Its advisory retains a combined 7kg cabin-baggage limit for the permitted two items. The main cabin bag must fit within 56 × 36 × 23cm. Check the allowance on your booking before leaving home.
For international itineraries, confirm entry and transit requirements with the relevant authorities. Airport-specific boarding-pass verification may still be required even after online check-in.
