Icelease has ordered one Boeing 767-300 passenger-to-freighter conversion and secured options for two more, Boeing announced on November 2. The distinction matters: the agreement does not make all three aircraft firm orders.
Conversion work planned in Singapore
In its announcement, Boeing says the first aircraft is scheduled to enter conversion in the first quarter of 2027, with delivery expected in the second quarter. The work is planned at ST Engineering’s airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities in Singapore.
These are planned milestones, rather than completed deliveries. Boeing says the companies marked the agreement at the Cargo Facts Symposium on October 22.
Adding a widebody to the managed cargo portfolio
Icelease managing partner Sigthor Einarsson says the converted 767 will join the managed cargo portfolio of IAT Leasing, its Dublin-based sister company. He describes that portfolio as already including seven 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters and other leased freighters.
The announcement does not identify the donor aircraft or its eventual airline customer. The archive passenger 767 pictured here illustrates the aircraft type; it is not identified as part of this agreement.
