SEA Spot Saver is scheduled to end on November 30, 2026, according to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The airport says reservations booked through November 29 will be honored at TSA Checkpoint 4.
Official guidance checked October 9, 2026. This is an advance passenger-planning update, not an announcement that the program has already closed.
SEA Spot Saver: the dates to know
| Item | Published guidance |
|---|---|
| Closure | November 30, 2026 |
| Reservations before closure | Reservations booked through November 29 honored at Checkpoint 4 |
| Wait-time information | Terminal displays, the flySEA app and the airport’s checkpoint webpage |
Why the airport is ending the program
SEA says it introduced Spot Saver in 2021 to manage security waits while pursuing longer-term improvements. Its explanation points to new Checkpoint 1 and redesigned Checkpoint 6, which opened in 2025. This is the airport’s stated reason, not a Flyzeu measurement of current queue lengths.
What to check for your departure
Start with your departure date. An appointment useful for one trip may not be an option for a later journey. Recheck the airport’s notice rather than relying on an old confirmation or an older article about the service.
- Before closure, confirm the appointment details and assigned checkpoint.
- For later travel, check the airport’s current screening information and wait times.
- Keep your airline’s check-in and bag-drop instructions alongside your airport plan.
- If you need assistance, arrange it separately; a security appointment is not an assistance request.
Do not read the closure notice as a promise of shorter queues on your travel day. Live wait information and the requirements for your own flight remain the useful checks.
