Riyadh airport attacks have disrupted travel through King Khalid International Airport, with another terminal strike reported on October 11, 2026. Passengers should confirm their flight directly with their airline before traveling to the airport.
What has been reported?
The Associated Press reports that the Saudi-led coalition said a projectile struck the passenger-terminal complex on Sunday. Saudi authorities reported injuries, and the Houthis claimed responsibility.
Separately, Saudi Gazette, citing the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), reported that Saturday’s October 10 attack killed 12 people and injured 309. Those figures refer to Saturday’s attack, not a confirmed toll for Sunday’s strike. The authority said damage assessments were underway.
Is Riyadh airport operating?
Available reports give different snapshots of airport operations. AP’s Sunday report described the airport as closed, while an Anadolu report covering Saturday also described a subsequent resumption. Neither should be treated as a live departure-board update.
This article does not confirm the airport’s operating status at the moment you read it. Check your airline’s flight-status service and the official airport website before departure. A flight shown in a booking confirmation is not proof that it will operate.
What should affected passengers check?
- Confirm the status of each flight, including connecting services, before leaving for the airport.
- Review rebooking or refund options with the airline or booking agent. Policies can differ by carrier and ticket.
- Check official travel advice for your nationality and destination, rather than relying on social-media footage alone.
As one airline-specific example, KLM’s October 10 statement extends its suspension of Dubai, Riyadh and Dammam services through October 31. That announcement does not establish the status of other airlines or guarantee a November 1 restart.
