Japan Airlines reported higher sales but lower earnings for April–September 2026, as fuel prices and a weak yen pushed costs up. Its November 2 results kept the full-year outlook unchanged.

Revenue grows faster than passenger numbers

JAL Group revenue rose 11.7% to ¥1,098.9 billion, a first-half record since its re-listing. EBIT fell 36% to ¥70.1 billion; net profit declined 42.2% to ¥39 billion.

International passenger revenue increased 16% even as passenger numbers fell 3.1%. Domestic passenger revenue rose 5.8% while passenger numbers dropped 2.2%. Higher revenue per passenger helped explain that divergence.

Annual targets retained

For the year ending March 2027, JAL still forecasts EBIT of ¥180 billion and net profit of ¥110 billion. These remain forecasts; the published half-year figures cover April 1–September 30.
