Finnair carried about 3.5 million passengers in July-September 2026, up 7% from a year earlier, according to its interim report published on October 27. Its comparable operating result rose to EUR84.0 million from EUR50.7 million.
The third quarter in figures
| Measure | July-September 2026 | July-September 2025 |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | EUR953.2 million | EUR834.9 million |
| Comparable operating result | EUR84.0 million | EUR50.7 million |
| Passenger load factor | 81.8% | 79.8% |
The load-factor improvement was two percentage points. This measure describes how much passenger capacity was used; it does not show whether a particular future departure has seats available.
Finnair said industrial action reduced the comparison quarter’s comparable operating result by around EUR18 million. That affected the base against which this year’s improvement is measured.
Quarterly and nine-month results are different
For January-September, the comparable operating result was EUR161.8 million, against a loss of EUR1.5 million a year earlier. That nine-month figure should not be confused with the EUR84.0 million third-quarter result. Comparable operating result is also a different measure from bottom-line net profit.
Annual guidance was already raised in October
The report retains the 2026 revenue range of EUR3.5-3.6 billion and comparable operating-result range of EUR175-220 million. These ranges were updated on October 13; they are not a new guidance increase announced on October 27.
