Aegean Airlines and Air China are listed to expand their winter 2026–27 codeshare on six links, according to an October 27 schedule update from AeroRoutes. The report gives October 25, 2026 as the planned start date for the additional codes.

Which airline operates each segment?

A codeshare lets one airline market a partner’s flight under its own flight number. The aircraft and crew come from the operating airline shown on the booking, so a new code does not necessarily mean an extra physical flight.

Aegean Airlines Air China Beijing Capital–Athens
Beijing Capital–Guangzhou
Air China Aegean Airlines Athens–Heraklion
Athens–Rhodes
Athens–Thessaloniki
Athens–Thira (Santorini)

AeroRoutes’ original report was published at 06:15 GMT on October 27. It describes planned codeshare additions, rather than providing live seat availability for every date.

The partnership was announced in April

This winter update follows an earlier agreement. In its April 21, 2026 announcement, Aegean said it had signed a codeshare partnership with Air China and expected it to begin in May.

That announcement described Athens–Beijing travel, onward connections to Guangzhou and access to Greek destinations through Aegean. The October schedule report should therefore be distinguished from the original signing. Neither source establishes a new nonstop Athens–Guangzhou service.

What to check before booking

Check the “operated by” line for each flight, including connecting segments. Compare the complete itinerary, connection time, checked-baggage arrangements, fare conditions and the airline handling any disruption before buying a ticket.

For a Greece–Guangzhou journey, inspect the connection shown in the booking results. A city appearing in a codeshare network does not make every itinerary to it nonstop. The timetable can change, and a planned code is not proof that a particular fare or seat is available.
