Air Canada has opened its Toronto–Tenerife South service, while a separate Montreal route is scheduled to begin on October 31, 2026. For travellers planning a Canary Islands trip, the distinction is important: the Toronto launch has taken place, while Montreal’s first departure is still ahead.
Toronto arrival confirmed; Montreal starts next
Turismo de Tenerife’s October 28 statement says the first aircraft from Toronto landed at Tenerife South Airport at 9:10 a.m. local time on Monday, October 26. The aircraft returned to Canada later that day.
The tourism authority says Toronto service will operate through the winter season. Montreal service is due to start October 31 and continue into summer. In remarks published by the authority, Air Canada executive Alexandre Lefèvre described the Montreal continuation as establishing a year-round presence on the island.
Check both directions before booking
The two Canadian gateways should not be treated as interchangeable schedules. Use Air Canada’s booking and flight-status tools to confirm the operating dates, arrival day and return flight for your chosen city. A planned summer continuation is not confirmation of an individual departure.
For an overnight transatlantic trip, check the calendar date on arrival before arranging accommodation or a connection. Review baggage, changes and any onward flight together, particularly if you are buying separate tickets.
Tenerife South is the airport identified in the launch statement. Check the airport name on every booking and transfer arrangement rather than relying on the destination name alone.
