Passengers flying to or from Taiwan should check their individual booking before traveling to the airport, as airline notices cover disruption from Typhoon Champi on October 23 and 24, 2026. AirAsia has announced recovery options for affected customers, while Vietjet says it plans additional Hanoi–Taichung flights on October 24, weather permitting.

Advisories checked October 24, 2026, Pakistan time. The notices describe affected dates and planned arrangements, not confirmation that any specific flight has departed or that airport-wide operations have returned to normal.

AirAsia: Taipei and Kaohsiung passengers should check bookings

In its October 23 advisory, AirAsia says its group services to and from Taipei (TPE) and Kaohsiung (KHH) are expected to be affected across October 23–24. The airline says affected customers have been contacted using the details in their bookings.

Check the AirAsia MOVE app, the airline’s flight-status service, AskBo and your registered email. A general warning does not mean every flight on every route is canceled.

Refund, credit or a one-time flight change

AirAsia lists three alternatives for affected guests: a refund to the original payment method; credit valid for 730 days from issue; or a one-time free date change on the same route, subject to available seats.

The date-change window depends on the operating flight code. AK, FD and Z2 customers can move within 30 days of their original departure; D7 customers have a 90-day window. Check the code on your ticket rather than assuming all AirAsia-branded services use the same conditions.

Confirm that your booking qualifies and review any replacement itinerary before accepting it. The notice offers alternatives, not three benefits that can all be claimed together.

Vietjet: October 23 cancellations and planned October 24 flights

Vietjet’s official Champi notice lists October 23 suspensions between Hanoi and Taipei and between Hanoi and Taichung. It also identifies departure-time changes that day on Da Nang–Taichung, Nha Trang–Taipei and Ho Chi Minh City–Taichung services.

The airline says two additional flights are planned on the Hanoi–Taichung–Hanoi route on October 24 to assist passengers when the weather improves. That is a recovery plan, not proof that the flights have operated or that all disrupted passengers have been rebooked.

Use Vietjet’s My Booking service and official email or text alerts to confirm your actual flight number and departure time. AirAsia’s published refund and credit options should not be assumed to apply to a Vietjet ticket.

What travelers should do before leaving

  • Check both the outward and return flight, including any connection on a separate ticket.
  • Make sure your airline has working contact details and keep cancellation or rebooking messages.
  • Confirm the replacement flight before changing accommodation or buying another ticket.
  • Check local ground-transport and safety advice separately from the airline schedule.

Flyzeu previously covered Champi-related cancellations in Guam. That report concerns different airports and dates; it is not a current Taiwan flight-status update.
