Warsaw–Modlin airport has resumed operations after a temporary closure following a reported bomb threat involving a LOT flight from London Heathrow on November 3, according to Reuters reporting published by ABC. Initial airport statements described checks of the aircraft.
What the airport reported
Modlin said an alert was raised at 09:54 and a Boeing 737 MAX landed there at 10:01, using the local times in its account. The flight had been bound for Warsaw Chopin Airport.
The airport said 181 people were evacuated. The airport initially said passengers and crew were waiting in the arrivals hall while services checked the aircraft. LOT confirmed the flight was its service, Reuters reported.
Separate checks at Chopin
A Chopin spokesperson told Reuters that an SAS flight from Copenhagen was also being checked following a reported threat. Chopin continued operating.
Update, November 3: Reuters subsequently reported that Polish authorities said the threat on the SAS flight was not confirmed. Whether the two Polish incidents were linked remained unclear.
These accounts do not establish that an explosive device was found or that the two reports were connected. Check your flight’s status with the airline: reopening an airport does not by itself confirm an individual flight’s departure time.
