Qantas plans to launch seasonal nonstop flights between Sydney and Cape Town on October 19, 2027. The airline says tickets are on sale for the service, which is scheduled to run through March 24, 2028.

Sydney to Cape Town schedule

Qantas plans to fly a Boeing 787 Dreamliner three times a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The outbound flight, QF89, is scheduled to leave Sydney at 9:15 AM and arrive in Cape Town at 2:40 PM the same day, local time. The airline lists a flight time of about 14 hours and 25 minutes.

The seasonal service gives travellers an option to reach Cape Town directly from Sydney. Qantas also serves Johannesburg from Sydney and Perth. Check the airline’s booking calendar for the dates, times and prices available for your trip.
