Delta accessible travel updates announced on October 2, 2026, cover aircraft features, inflight information and digital tools. The airline lists both recent and upcoming enhancements; the announcement does not establish that every feature is available on every flight.
What Delta announced
Marking 40 years since the Air Carrier Access Act, Delta said customer feedback and its Advisory Board on Disability and Accessible Travel inform its work.
- Tactile controls on Delta One seats and tactile lavatory features.
- A dedicated wheelchair-accessible lavatory on select new aircraft.
- English closed captions across inflight entertainment content, with more audio-descriptive programming.
- Important announcements displayed on seatback screens.
- Expanded ways to communicate accessibility needs and mobility-device information through Delta.com and the Fly Delta app.
What remains unconfirmed for your flight
The release does not identify the new aircraft or give rollout dates. The practical distinction is between an airline-wide announcement and features on a specific aircraft: confirm requirements with Delta rather than assuming a listed enhancement is installed on your flight.
Before booking a specific flight
Ask which of the announced features applies to your aircraft and cabin, and describe the assistance you need rather than relying on the announcement alone. For airport, boarding and mobility-device planning, see our Delta wheelchair assistance guide.
How to request Delta assistance
Delta’s current Accessible Travel Services page directs passengers to My Trips to request help with wheelchairs or mobility devices, low vision, hearing needs and allergies. It recommends arranging assistance when booking and giving the airline details about your needs.
For needs beyond the My Trips options, Delta lists 404-209-3434, with 711 for relay services. Its online Accessible Service Request form is available when travel is more than seven days away. That form’s timing is not a general seven-day deadline for all assistance requests.
At the airport, ask Delta customer-service staff for assistance. If a disability-related issue needs resolution, staff can direct you to a Complaint Resolution Official. Links and contact information were checked on October 10, 2026; use Delta’s live page for any later changes.
