Air Mauritius is reassessing three Airbus A350-900s on order while seeking proposals for up to five narrowbody aircraft, according to its 23 October strategy statement.

What the fleet review covers

The airline says Seabury Aviation Partners has completed a ten-year network review. Its fleet recommendations include narrowbody aircraft and a fresh assessment of the three A350s.

A request for proposals is under way. That is a procurement step: the statement does not announce a selected narrowbody type or a firm order. Nor does reassessing the A350s establish that the orders have been cancelled.

Rodrigues conversion remains a proposal

The plan also proposes converting an ATR 72-500 for medical evacuation and cargo work on the Rodrigues route. It does not announce that such a service has begun.

These are elements of the airline’s October strategy programme; passengers should not read the fleet review as a flight cancellation notice.
