Russia’s aviation regulator Rosaviatsia has announced the lifting of temporary arrival and departure restrictions at all four Moscow airports after overnight disruption spanning October 29–30.
Two stages of restoration
The regulator’s October 30 updates lifted restrictions at Sheremetyevo and Zhukovsky at 8:09 a.m. Moscow time (05:09 UTC), followed by Vnukovo and Domodedovo at 8:57 a.m. (05:57 UTC).
Rosaviatsia said the restrictions had been introduced for flight safety. Its notices confirm the removal of the operating restrictions, rather than that every affected flight has departed or that airline schedules have fully recovered.
Delays remain after reopening
In a further update published at 10:57 a.m. Moscow time (07:57 UTC), Rosaviatsia said all four airports were open to arrivals and departures. It reported that, as of 10:10 a.m. Moscow time (07:10 UTC), 66 departing flights and 33 arriving flights were delayed by more than two hours across the Moscow airport hub. These are delayed-flight counts at that checkpoint, not cancellation totals.
The regulator said airlines were adjusting schedules and additional airport staff were assisting passengers. Its official public channel update did not give a time for full schedule recovery.
Check the individual flight
Passengers should check their airline’s latest flight status before travelling to the airport. An airport reopening announcement alone does not confirm a particular departure, arrival or revised check-in time.
