Air Transat plans to add Montréal–Geneva and Toronto–Birmingham flights in June 2027, giving Canadian travellers two new European destinations in its summer network. The airline announced the routes on October 29, 2026.
Canadian departure dates in the announced schedule
| Route | Planned Canadian departures | 2027 season |
|---|---|---|
| Montréal–Trudeau (YUL) to Geneva (GVA), Switzerland | Tuesday and Saturday; twice weekly | June 19–October 23 |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to Birmingham (BHX), United Kingdom | Tuesday and Friday; twice weekly | June 22–October 22 |
These are planned services for next summer, not flights that have already launched. The dates and weekdays above describe departures from Canada. Check the return direction separately before choosing accommodation or onward travel.
Birmingham returns fall on different days
Birmingham Airport’s October 29 announcement lists its first Toronto-bound departure for Wednesday, June 23, followed by Wednesday and Saturday flights through October 23, 2027. That differs from the Canadian departure dates because the published directions have different local departure days.
The airport says tickets are on sale through Air Transat. Compare the outbound and return dates together: a twice-weekly service offers fewer alternatives for changing a trip than a daily timetable. Check current flight times, baggage inclusions and fare conditions for the actual booking.
Part of a wider summer expansion
The same airline announcement adds a weekly Montréal–Faro route, planned on Mondays from June 14 to October 25, 2027. It also includes the Québec City–Lyon and Barcelona plans covered in Flyzeu’s separate Québec City route guide.
Air Transat describes Geneva and Birmingham as new destinations in its own network. This does not mean they are the first airline links ever offered between those cities and Canada.
