United’s new Terminal B North Concourse at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport is scheduled to open to passengers on October 22, 2026, according to the airline’s October 21 announcement. The opening adds a new place to depart from—not a reason to assume every United flight at IAH now uses Terminal B.

What changes in Terminal B North?

The three-level concourse has 22 mainline gates, with jet-bridge boarding for all United flights using the North Concourse. United says the gates provide larger waiting and boarding areas. North and South together bring the airline’s Terminal B gate count to 48; the 22-gate figure refers to North alone.

The facility includes new dining and shops, a children’s play area and a sensory room. The project also includes ground-level check-in and additional curbside and roadway capacity. These features do not establish shorter security lines or a guaranteed quicker connection.

What is new about the United Club?

The concourse includes a 54,000-square-foot United Club with seating for 800 people and an outdoor terrace. United describes it as the largest airline club in the Americas. A larger lounge is not a promise of entry: check the access conditions attached to your ticket, membership or other eligibility before planning a visit.

Before leaving for Houston IAH

Check the terminal and gate attached to your own flight in United’s app or booking, and recheck airport displays on arrival. Do not choose a drop-off point from an opening headline alone. If your itinerary involves a connection, use the assigned arrival and departure gates to plan your transfer.

Passengers who need mobility or other assistance should confirm their arrangements with the airline. A jet bridge at the departure gate does not remove the need to plan for the distance through the airport.

The announcement was a preview on October 21 and identified October 22 as the public opening date. This guide does not independently confirm the opening time of each restaurant, shop or service.
